Position Overview:
Performs complex technical assignments involving instrumentation and data acquisition/processing systems under the leadership of appropriate staff or project personnel.
Job Duties
- Performs assigned tasks including planning, setup, installation, calibration and operation of analog and digital instrumentation, data acquisition, and processing systems. Properly manufacturing accurate documentation.
- Investigate, diagnose, correct and document instrumentation or system malfunctions.
- Maintain effective communications with customers, support organization and team members.
- Provide technical direction to less experienced technicians.
- Actively support and participate in multiple-skills development internal and external to data acquisition activities.
- Analyze results of calibrations and processed data and assist in the interpretation of test data.
- Store and retain data as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
- Working knowledge of federal and provincial fire, building, plumbing and electrical codes.
- Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and specific product knowledge.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of company instruction, company process and quality manuals.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng. or PE) in the province or state in which you work.
- University degree in mechanical, industrial or aerospace engineering; or a diploma in an Engineering Techonologist program; or equivalent.
- 5 years experience working in a Gas Turbine Engine environment.
- Ability to work on call is required.
