Position Overview:
Provide support in areas of engine and test cell hardware/software configuration under the leadership of appropriate staff or project personnel.
Job Duties
- Insure that control room display of data and safety limit annuniciation is correct and in accordance with test requirements.
- Participate in test planning efforts and support test in areas of the console, Fadec Monitoring System (FMS), Display Adjustment Panel (DAP) and Portable Data Loader (PDL) operation.
- Maintain required test cell and engine hardware/software documentation.
- Maintain effective communications with customers, support organizations and team members.
- Coordinate cell and slave systems to provide effective utilization of test facilities.
- Investigate, diagnose and correct instrumentation and system malfunctions.
- Assist maintenance and engineering organizations in the maintenance and repair of test facilities.
- Provide technical direction and training to less experienced technicians.
- Assists other job roles to achieve a common goal as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
- Working knowledge of federal and provincial fire, building, plumbing and electrical codes.
- Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and specific product knowledge.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of company instruction, company process and quality manuals.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng. or PE) in the province or state in which you work.
- University degree in mechanical, industrial or aerospace engineering; or a diploma in an Engineering Techonologist program; or equivalent.
- 5 years experience working in a Gas Turbine Engine environment.
Ability to work on call is required.
