Position Overview:

Provide support in areas of engine and test cell hardware/software configuration under the leadership of appropriate staff or project personnel.

Job Duties

  • Insure that control room display of data and safety limit annuniciation is correct and in accordance with test requirements.
  • Participate in test planning efforts and support test in areas of the console, Fadec Monitoring System (FMS), Display Adjustment Panel (DAP) and Portable Data Loader (PDL) operation.
  • Maintain required test cell and engine hardware/software documentation.
  • Maintain effective communications with customers, support organizations and team members.
  • Coordinate cell and slave systems to provide effective utilization of test facilities.
  • Investigate, diagnose and correct instrumentation and system malfunctions.
  • Assist maintenance and engineering organizations in the maintenance and repair of test facilities.
  • Provide technical direction and training to less experienced technicians.
  • Assists other job roles to achieve a common goal as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
  • Working knowledge of federal and provincial fire, building, plumbing and electrical codes.
  • Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and specific product knowledge.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company instruction, company process and quality manuals.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng. or PE) in the province or state in which you work.
  • University degree in mechanical, industrial or aerospace engineering; or a diploma in an Engineering Techonologist program; or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience working in a Gas Turbine Engine environment.

Ability to work on call is required.
