Position Overview:
Provides technical support and maintenance to customers in the field by dismantling, cleaning, repairing, inspecting, assembling, and/or testing customer engines and/or accessories.
Job Duties
- Assesses information and troubleshoots to determine the actions required.
- Performs visual and dimensional inspection of parts to determine serviceability for continued service; identifies unserviceable parts and initiates parts requisitions.
- Assures that all services rendered are in compliance with all customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Acts as a liaison with production, engineering, sales, and customers in resolving customer problems and complaints.
- Maintains detailed expense accounts, field service work orders, records of work performed, warranty claims, cost estimates, and invoicing, if applicable, following the completion of the service job.
- Assesses information provided by the customer from participating in the field and makes recommendations to management regarding the disposition of warranty claims on items under his/her responsibility.
- Participates in continuous improvement of cell/service centre processes.
- Cross trains and seeks endorsements in other complementary skills needed to support production requirements.
- Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills needed to support production requirements.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Attains applicable inspection stamps.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, customer service, oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in technical writing.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the applicable regulatory requirements relating to maintenance of aeronautical products.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in the maintenance of aeronautical or related products. Experience shall include involvement in both the mechanical and testing aspects of the product for which the approval is sought and installation of the products into the airframe or applicable equipment.
- Willing and able to travel.
- Experience with PT6/PW100 engines is a definite asset.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience is a definite asset.
