Position Overview:
- Demonstrates continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Responsible for the procurement of Indirect/MRO material. MRO
Job Duties
- Coordinate all MRO activities working directly with assigned business units to ensure timely and cost effective purchasing and receipt of necessary equipment and supplies to ensure continued operations.
- Obtains quotations from vendors to ensure favorable quality, price and delivery terms; prepares MRO purchase orders through a computerized system.
- Approving and controlling the release of blanket purchase order releases
- Researches new products and vendors; provides data to technical staff and assists them in purchasing decisions.
- Expedites orders to ensure timely delivery of purchases by verifying initial demands and analyzing backorder reports.
- Conducts research, evaluates findings and makes independent decisions on MRO procurement matters for goods and services
- Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures and ensures all purchasing procedures and guidelines are followed.
- expensing purchases to correct distrubution codes as per company guidelines
- Obtains appropriate MRO commodities in a timely manner and follow up on deliveries as required to maintain production support requirements
- Interprets and evaluates MRO Contract Provisions
- Interfaces with suppliers, team members and management to resolve discrepancies, answer questions and provide guidance.
- Communicate any supplier MRO order discrepancies and work to resolve with necessary parties; monitors usages along with the possibilities of warranty repairs
- Coordinates and monitors the return of damaged goods, arranging for replacements or credits, and documents all transactions.
- Organizes, updated, and retains MRO supplier and product information files and purchase order records to ensure compliance.
- Reviews and recommends updates to company instructions and material policies and procedures.
- Identify and alert management to any actual or potential issues tha twoud ladversely impace program finanacial performance.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurance of any nonconformance relating to product, process and systems.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through appropriate channels and verify implementation
- Trains/monitors Planner/Buyers.
- Monitors and reports on measures of performance for MRO
- Interacts with Logistics to ensure maximization of freight savings and to communicate priority shipments of incoming materials.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carries out other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Self disciplined to perform many assorted and time-sensitive assignments while bringing them to conclustion effectively
- Thorough knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
- Thorough knowledge of inventory control, purchasing and production management computer systems.
- University bachelor degree in business administration; or equivalent.
- 75% completion of an appropriate certification program (PMAC, APICS, CPM or CMA).
- Experience in an inventory or manufacturing environment.
