StandardAero Reopens Springfield MPI Shop
In response to customer input, StandardAero is reopening its TFE731 major periodic inspection (MPI) shop in Springfield, Ill. (SPI), and re-establishing the service center’s “one-stop-shop” capability for operators.
In 2005, prior to becoming part of the new StandardAero, the decision was made to relocate the TFE731 shop at SPI to Little Rock, Ark., co-locating the shop alongside one of its key OEMs at the time. Upon conducting lengthy due diligence as to the effectiveness of the move and based on customer feedback, the company has decided to return all TFE731 MPI work – including the Honeywell MPI License and related tooling – back to SPI. The shop will be fully operational in the third quarter of this year.
“We listened to our customers and we validated the data. We saw this as another opportunity to take direct input from customers and solve their needs,” said Mike Ménard, SPI’s vice-president and general manager.
To support business aviation customers in the Little Rock region, StandardAero has established a quick-response Mobile Services Team, available 24/7/365. Information on StandardAero’s mobile services capabilities and locations can be found by visiting the StandardAero website.
