StandardAero’s Springfield, Ill. Facility Receives FAA STC ODA Re-Certification
StandardAero’s Springfield facility (SPI) has had its Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) status re-certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA conducted its mandatory audit earlier this year and found the Springfield facility to have “no findings” and re-certified the ODA for an additional three years.
Springfield transitioned from a Designated Alteration Station (DAS) to an ODA in June, 2009. Since then, the company has completed 29 STC certification and have 10 STC projects in progress, scheduled for completion by the end of 2011. The STCs include complete engine retrofits, new glass cockpits, and complete interiors on many different makes and model aircraft from Cessna Caravans to Boeing BBJs.
StandardAero’s ODA designation enables the company to approve design data, tests, and analysis as well as make findings of compliance to the regulations allowing them to sign STCs on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration for aircraft alterations.
