The Left Seat

It’s often said that the key to a good relationship is good communication. What this really means is that the key to “success” – regardless of the endeavor – is communication. Since I assumed leadership of StandardAero’s Business Aviation Sector just over two years ago, my team and I have made good communication the nexus of everything we do.

So, what is good communication? It’s many things, among them: staying in touch with you, our customers, and keeping you apprised of what’s going on with your aircraft and with the industry. It is providing you with an “insiders” look at the company and the people working on your aircraft. It is doing what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it. It is no “last minute surprises.” It is doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of you, our customers, to ensure your mission is a success. It is ensuring lines of communication are in place to get immediate feedback if we don’t execute perfectly, every time. It is having a Customer Advisory Board that gives us feedback on how we’re doing, and upon whom we can test ideas. And last but not least, it (communication) is an iterative dialogue between us and you that requires your feedback to help us to proactively and continuously fulfill your needs.

Fifteen months ago we launched Horizons as one more way to communicate with you, our customers, to offer insights into key industry trends that impact your business. The goal of the publication is to keep you abreast of the latest events in engine MRO, airframe issues, trends and advancements in avionics and the latest techniques on completions and paint. All of this is in addition to the personal relationships our team shares with each of you. And all of this to help you in your needs and choices, while helping us become the industry’s best independent MRO service provider, and your service partner.

Next week our industry’s biggest event of the year takes place in Las Vegas – NBAA. StandardAero Business Aviation will be there with members of our team from every corner of the globe – North America, Europe, Asia and Latin and South America. NBAA not only provides us the opportunity to announce exciting new products and services; it more importantly, provides us with an additional opportunity to augment our communications with you, our customers by spending some face time, listening and talking, and collectively engaging you with solutions to help you meet your MRO needs and challenges. Our booth number is N6116.

By the way, this year is StandardAero’s 100th birthday. We hope you stop by and join us for cocktails and appetizers on Monday, as we celebrate our 100th years of service to the aviation industry.

All the best,
Scott
